Andrey Akimov (b.1971, Moscow, Russia) graduated from the Faculty of Geology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1993. From the middle of the nineties he is engaged in art, editorial and commercial photography. In 1999 the respected Russian photography magazine Foto& Video published his portfolio and the first writings. In 2006 he took up the duties of the editor in above magazine. Later in 2015 he became the editor-in-chief.
He is the author of about 150 magazine writings devoted to creative, historical and technical issues of photography (all in Russian).
He has been teaching photography since 2004.
